I am trained in behavioral science to both analyze and implement strategies that enable behavior change to scale significant outcomes improvement. This training has influenced my career. My speaking career began as an advocate for diversity in digital health leadership. As a digital health thought leader, I apply the same lens of behavioral science and equity to digital health product strategy and advocate for more innovation that addresses the needs of diverse populations. As a business coach, I teach entrepreneurs and professionals in high-stress work environments how to manage their time, focus, and productivity habits for greater success and balance in their endeavors.
Program summary: Public health relies mostly on public sector funding which has been declining due to decades of budget cuts leading to an estimated shortfall in public health funding of $20-24 billion. Public health can not afford to not develop more innovative, cost-effective ways to deliver essential services to high-need populations. Digital health is the fastest growing healthcare sector, largely driven by rapid growth in venture capital (VC) investment. However, VCs have not seen high returns due to a overly predominant focus on the health of individuals instead of the health of populations. As digital health begins to wake up to the opportunity in prevention and protecting health within the most vulnerable of populations, VCs are turning to opportunities at the intersection of public health and technology to address complex public health challenges. Venture capital funding for public health tech has the potential to leverage public health strengths (integrated, systems-level approaches based on evidence) as well as the strengths of technology (aptitude in driving integration and scalability) to prevent disease onset and protect the health of our communities. This keynote (1) outlines trends driving the convergence of public health and venture capital to foster greater public health innovation; (2) debunks significant myths and misconceptions about private markets, commercialization and venture capital; (3) highlight public health tech companies opportunities that are venture-backable to increase venture capital investment in public health tech.

Program summary: This talk will share the lessons learned from my experience of entrepreneurial burnout to allow the audience to examine their current habits and how they shape their mindset for success in their business and fulfillment in their lives. In particular, the audience will learn how they can use behavioral science to troubleshoot barriers to healthy habit formation, identify healthy alternatives to negative practices, implement positive habits that foster a better work-life balance, and build a plan for accountability and maintenance. Rather than relying on motivation alone, habit formation allows people to do self care consistently over time so they can make better decisions, manage their time and energy, and grow their careers and businesses strategically to optimize their health and financial wellbeing.

Program summary: This talk shares my personal account of my path to building my career and transition to entrepreneurship through building side ventures or side hustles. I share how my mindset shifted through action and experimentation as well as the significant benefits of launching a side hustle outside of generating more income. Specifically, the audience will learn which potential benefits inspire entrepreneurial motivation and activity and what essential steps they need to take to launch a healthy side hustle or entrepreneurial venture.
